Church
Established in 1955, Marygiri Ashram, a religious house
of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), the first indegenouse
religious congregation in India, was started on a tiny hill
in Koothattukulam to cater to the spiritual needs of the
people around. Regular sacrimental services are rendered
for the spiritual nourishment of the people. Adjoined to
the school the monastery provides a serene and calm ambience
to the students. Their spiritual realisation is facilitated
through periodical retreat programmes and prayer sessions.
Guidance and counselling is always made available to the
needy by resourceful spiritual fathers. The devout inmates
of the monastery continue to stick on to its mission of
spiritual enlightenment through education and remain wholeheartedly
at the service of God and country.
